Problem Statement

A survey done revealed that in this community there are cases of teenage marriages; without knowledge of modern reproductive health, resulting in a big number of children whom the parents cannot cater for.

This results in health problems, as well as malnutrition and the health facilities around are far from the neighborhood.

Many lives have been lost which would have been saved otherwise. Although primary education in Kenya is now free, due to the high number of children, parents are not able to take them to nursery schools, majority of which are private owned and very expensive.

Many of these parents are semi - literate, being school dropouts due to early marriages, lack of school fees, ignorance by parents to take their children to school, single parenthood e.t.c.

This has contributed to low moral standards without observing Christian ethics which in the end results into family breakages, prostitutions, suicide, street children and  HIV / AIDS as well as illegal ways of earning income for survival.
